lyrics

"Soul Preservation" by Aleyes

(Verse 1)
Ayo I’m quoting Bourdain, “In life there’s no reservations”
I’m trying soul preservation til I grow my domain
Finna blow like propane, napalmin' on the charts
I’m embalmin' all the hearts, you can call it a la carte
Cause we sapid with it, saving the day like some action figures
Pavin' the way for you vapid dimwits
Cancer ridden, cause the doctor claims I’m ill
But then your heat is going out like you forgot to pay the bill
9 bars in, feelin' like I haven’t said a word
10 bars in, and still some raps you never heard
My adjectives and verbs keep the savviness absurd
And still I haven’t said a word but that’s what happens when you’re burnt
And I often recall that peeps from school all hated me
They were droppin' the ball cause even fools saw blatantly
Them brothas wasn’t worth my time, they covered up like turpentine
I cut em' up like surg’ry lines and moved on gracefully

(Verse 2)
A high school senior; that isn’t how I appear
With wisdom above my years I’m indifferent to the sneers
That I hear when I spit a verse, but I fear getting insular
Cause I’m clearly afflicted with wishin' peers were a bit diverse
But I’m coo doe, so you have to give me kudos
I’m good on the bars though, so actually give me pluto
Cause I’m never accepting anything less than out of this world
Dug out of the burrow to get my head well-rounded as pearls
You see cause soul preservation isn’t a concept of the flesh it’s
Not a concept of perfection but a concept of perspective
In essence, it starts with broad acknowledgement of blessin's
This often prompts the thoughts that offer knowledge with their presence
It’s a message of importance, they refusin' permission to hear it
So I’m using my with and coherence, then I’m infusin' it into my lyrics
Yea it’s Aleyes, the classy don, stayin' up on jazzy joints
Looking down on rappers? Nah, I’m way above the vantage point

(Verse 3)
To be quite honest, I ain’t feel like writin' a chill track
Just wanna yell and scream, and every time that I feel mad
The line in quilt’s black, I attempt to thread em golden
Find my interest as a poet, tie my dividends to quotients
Yea I’m coming into self, that’s my theory’s main postulate
With undercover stealth, like a CIA operative
A chocolate chip, yea but I was one smart cookie
Jump start pulley that is worthy of a front yard looking
But stay inside, yea cause I was destined to wreak havoc
They say I’m white because of my respectable B av’rage
I kept in the “z” axis, no “x” and “y” normality
And never kissed up like, “Can I be let inside your majesty?”
A genocide for wack mc’s, so blessed me, the end is near
My road to life is open wide but destiny is left to steer
So you can lend an ear while I just rid of the mental rage
But Imma end it here right as the tip of my pencil fades
